The Bangalore Metro

The Bangalore Metro

The Bangalore Metro, also called Namma Metro, was opened on 20/10/2011 as India's third Metro Railway. The Namma Metro started it's construction in 2007. Th metro doesn't have a long history on it's own. There are currently two phases of the Metro, Phase 1 was completed in 2017. The Phase 1 route map is as follows:
Bangalore Metro Phase 1.
Mostly eneryone in India knows that Bangalore is the 3rd largest city in India. Such a city cannot afford to have a tiny metro such as it has being 42km long and having just 40 stations. The sole reason for this was a 6 year delay in completion of Phase 1. So, Phase 2 is being executed in Bangalore.......DMRC submitted the DPR(Detailed Project Report) in 2011, following which the plan was started.....
The first plan was to extend the existing corridors.
The purple line would be extended from Mysuru Road to Kengeri and from Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield.
The Green Line would be extended from Yelachendahalli to Anjanapura and from Hesarghatta Cross to BIEC.

Two new lines are also being executed. They are:
Yellow line from RV Road to Bommasandra, and
Pink line from Gottigere to Nagawada.

In addition to these lines, an airport express or Blue line is also being planned for Bengaluru. We will discuss it in the next posts. Also, the space city of India does deserve more than 6 lines in the city. Phase 3 of the Metro is also being planned which is hoped to service areas such as Hoskote, Malur and Ramanagara. The complete phase 2 map should look like this:
Hope to see you in the next post. Thank You and have a nice week
